Gearbox Remapping

Gearbox remapping modifies the transmission of a vehicle via the TCU (transmission control unit) and is carried out to improve performance. It involves extracting and modifying the gearbox software data to alter the following:

• Shift points – allows the rpm limiter to be changed
• Shift speeds – increases the speed of gear changes
• Hydraulic pressure – increases in hydraulic pressure increase clutch-clamping pressure to prevent clutch slippage on highly-tuned cars
• Torque limiters – ensuring transmission won’t limit engine performance
