Car Servicing

Regular servicing is essential for vehicles of all ages. Once your manufacturer warranty period has passed it is still vital to continue with a regular servicing schedule to ensure your car or van continues to run safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

At WVS Performance we offer two levels of post-warranty servicing: Full or Interim. When a customer brings their vehicle to us for a service for the first time we will assess it individually so you’ll need to tell us how miles a year your drive (on average) and what previous service history the vehicle has; we will then advise which of the two levels is required.

For most, we would recommend alternating a Full service and an Interim service annually, along with any parts replacements recommended by the manufacturer throughout the life of the vehicle. Our team of technicians are highly skilled at evaluating all makes and models and making appropriate recommendations.

Our Interim Service includes:

• Check timing belt replacement interval where applicable
• Check for damage to bodywork, lamps and trims
• Check oil level
• Fit protective covers
• Check operation of interior and exterior lights
• Check operation of ABS and airbag warning lights where applicable
• Check windscreen washers and wipers
• Check horn
• Apply treatments to remove internal contamination
• Check cooling system including fan operation
• Check and record anti-freeze protection
• Check and record brake fluid condition
• Check power steering operation and fluid condition
• Check and top up all underbody fluid levels
• Change oil, filter and fit new sump plug washer
• Check fuel lines and brake pipes
• Check the condition and security of the exhaust
• Check all steering and suspension joints, mountings and gaiters
• Carry out a tyre report
• Check all wheel bearings for excessive ‘play’ and noise and adjust if needed
• Check CV gaiters and joints for wear or splits
• Check operation and condition of front brakes
• Carry out a brake report
• Refill engine with specified grade oil
• Torque wheel nuts/studs
• Road test vehicle and report any findings
• Re-check engine oil level
• Ensure all upholstery, gear lever, steering wheel, etc. are clean
• Stamp service book

Our Full Service includes:

• All service items included in Interim Service
• Check vehicle history
• Check condition and operation of all seatbelts
• Check air conditioning operation including bad odour where applicable
• Check operation of suspension dampers
• Lubricate all hinges, locks, and bonnet catches
• Check fuel cap
• Check all auxiliary drive belts (not the timing belt)
• Check engine breather system
• Check vacuum pipes
• Check throttle body and clean if required
• Check battery level and lubricate terminals
• Replace air filter where applicable
• Replace spark plugs where applicable
