AdBlue was introduced by vehicle manufacturers to meet the strict emission targets set by government bodies and is a chemical liquid injected into diesel exhaust systems just before the selective catalytic reduction (SCR). It is sometimes called DEF (diesel exhaust fluid).

Disabling the AdBlue system can only be done to off-road vehicles, by expert reprogramming of the engine management system, and hardwiring a small electronic unit into some vehicles. This service will also remove any warning messages and relevant dashboard lights.
